Opportunity as Academic Lead for the well known College in Delhi.
Role - Academic Lead English Language India
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & TASKS
Teacher Development Activity:
- Creating and delivering training and development sessions/ courses to English Language teachers specific to suit Indian context and classrooms. More particularly in communicative Language teaching and learning.
- Recruiting, training and leading the AST
- Leading on the development of TCL bids on various Teacher Training Projects as required by the various State Governments and with the Ministry of Education
- Managing research activities on various needs of English Language teaching in Indian classrooms.
- Ensuring that teacher support content is underpinned by the latest research and literature on Language learning and teaching
- Creating development and evaluation loops to ensure that activity is underpinned by teacher and candidate feedback
- Contributing to the creation of resources and content for Trinitys international teacher development activity
Research Activity:
- Contributing to TCLs international research activity
- Leading local research activity to inform the development of TCL English Language in India across the strata of educational landscape in India, from Young learners to Higher Education. (focus groups, workshops, interviews, surveys etc)
- Presenting on research at conferences
- Providing input into and subject specialism to the Business Development Team:
- Assist with identifying key messaging for communications for various target audiences.
- Diagnose the needs of, and challenges for communicative English and language learning and teaching, and identify opportunities for TCL to meet these needs
- Identify opportunities for growth of English Language through input into the overall business development strategy and activities
- Ensure that the customer services team is equipped with the syllabus knowledge necessary for answering enquiries from the public
- Work closely with lead academics in other markets to share best practices, ideas and market information.
Essential
- Knowledge of English Language education systems in India.
- Experience of leading teacher training and / or professional development, and devising teacher training courses
- English Language Teaching experience of at least 5 years in classroom context and also Higher education.
- Understanding and experience of English Language teaching pedagogies
- Experience in developing schemes of work, resources or other teaching materials
- Understanding of evaluating and assessing progress in Language learning
- Experience of leading interactive and highly engaging professional development workshops
- Experience of presenting at conferences, particularly at English education and research conferences
Desirable
- Experience in designing and conducting academic research
- Experience of contributing to targeted business development strategy
- Basic Digital skills for developing and delivering content on digital platforms
Qualifications
Essential
- Post-graduate degree Teaching/Education
- Cert TESOL (TCL)/CELTA
Desirable
- PhD English Language
- Experience with teaching TCL Qualifications
