Job Description
Summary
At Provar we pride ourselves in our customer service and being on hand to help our customers implement our products within their organisation. Each customer has a unique set of infrastructure challenges and requirements and we now wish to expand our growing team to include a dedicated Technical Support function.
Provar Tech Support team members are skilled hands-on technical resources who have a history of working within an end-to-end lifecycle for business applications and projects. The ideal candidates should have experience in either SysOps or DevOps and be familiar with Continuous Integration, Version Control and ideally Container-As-A-Service tools and technologies, both cloud based and locally hosted.
The candidate should be a self-starter, able to research solutions and make informed decisions based on their technical experience. They should be willing to learn new technologies and maintain expertise in a broad spectrum of tools and runtime environments. Full training on our Provar product will be provided. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to transfer into our Development, Consulting, or QA teams depending on their performance and skills demonstrated.
The role will report directly to the TechOps Manager who is based in India. The role is based out of Provar's Gurgaon office in India. Must be willing and able to work either daytime or nighttime shifts in line with our customer demand.
Responsibilities
The TechOps Professional is responsible for the following:
- Troubleshooting customer issues in setup and running of Provar
- Assisting customers in their DevOps configuration using various Version Control, Continuous Integration and CaaS tools
- Working with the Development team to help identify root causes and application vulnerabilities
- Becoming proficient on the Provar test automation application, in particular with respect to different configuration parameters (training will be provided) for TestRunner
- Assisting with setup and configuration of AWS instances as required by the TechOps Manager.
Essential:
- Previous experience working in a technical support function
- Proficient in leveraging CI/CD tools to automate deployment and testing. Preferable tools: Jenkins, TravisCI, TeamCity, CircleCI or Bamboo
- Experience of Windows, Mac OS and Linux platforms
- Ability to write and modify scripts for automation of tasks
- Experience of Apache ANT, comfortable writing and amending build scripts
- Experience of Version Control tools such as Git, SVN, TFS/VSTS
- Linux and Windows Server administration, including application deployments, security and configuration
- Basic understanding of integration with Version Control Software such as Git, Bitbucket.
Preferable:
- Minimum experience of 3 years in DevOps or TechOps role
- Experience configuring one or more Continuous Integration tool
- Experience with Salesforce APIs and remote connections
- Experience with proxy servers for the purpose of investigating issues and troubleshooting issues
- Technical understanding of Single Sign On solutions and how applications are integrated
- Basic experience of one or more Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) platforms, such as Docker
- Previous experience of test automation tools, or custom frameworks
- A knowledge of Selenium Webdrivers and running webapps in headless Chrome on Linux/Unix in both GUI and non-GUI environments
