Job Description

About the Role The position is for a senior engineer with solid experiences in big data related technologies. A successful candidate for this role will have a service-oriented mentality and possess a strong sense of ownership of the problems/requests assigned. The role will focus on evaluating technology solutions; building up and enhancing the platform; and offering solutions and to our business users. Responsibilities

Manage and automate Hadoop cluster environments: - Cluster sizing, Capacity Planning, Cluster configuration , Smoke testing, Service allocation, Security setup , Performance tuning and ongoing monitoring Contribute to planning and implementation of hardware and software upgrades.
Hands on Hadoop development and implementation, provide senior SME knowledge/support to members of the team.
Responsible to on-board new Hadoop use cases, deploy new technologies, solve end user business needs
Work with IT Operations and Information Security teams on monitoring and troubleshooting of incidents to maintain service levels Report resources/services utilization and performance metrics to user communities Research and provide recommendations on automating administration tasks.
Provide guidance and setup Disaster Recovery environment Provide guidance on Hadoop cluster setup (scaling, security).
Engage and lead solution architecture discussion to direct future product roadmap
Responsible for POCs including enablement of brand new tool or services into the lake.
Provide support to coordinate with Vendor teams on installation, bus fixes, and upgrades to implement risk/security compliance efforts to satisfy requirements related to consent order/MRA .
Provide support to Data Engineering teams on deployment of Hadoop/Spark jobs (DevOps model support) and on performance tuning.
Providing tool expertise for MapR-FS, Hive, Yarn, Hbase Spark services to internal app team and responsible to review change plans, quarterly java patching various vulnerability fixes.
Contribute to the evolving systems architecture to meet changing requirements for scaling, reliability, performance, manageability and cost Experience.

Essential Qualifications

Hands-on experience with supporting Hadoop/Spark ecosystem and architecture.
Hands-on administration experience on Map Reduce , MapR Streams , Spark , Hive and Kafka
Experienced with networking/Security infrastructure including VLAN, firewalls, Kerberos, LDAP
Extensive experience in administering Linux environment
Hadoop Certification is preferred.
Experience in setting up security features within Hadoop cluster
Experience in setting up Disaster Recovery environment .
Solid experience in NoSQL databases like HBase, MapR DB MongoDB
Experience with Private and public cloud technologies ( AWS, Google cloud ) Optional great to have.
Experience in working with Cluster Monitoring Tools like Nagios, ITRS
Familiarity with Version Control tools such as GIT.
Familiarity with Scripting Java , Shell, Perl, Ansible, Python, Scala
