Job Description

About Role:

The position is for a Software Engineer participating in design and development of applications as part of the technology transformation journey along with application support to internal applications and integration support to vendor built applications. The role requires technical knowledge of Object Oriented programming and demonstrated skills in JAVA , Spring , Hibernate and Angular.

Responsibilities:

Involve in end end lifecycle of Product/Application development, analyze highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
Provide coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code.
Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts.
Oversee overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production.
Lead projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced staff.
Assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
Mentor less experience technical staff and may be involved in activities for their skills development
Produce Functional System Design Documents
Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Document and demonstrate solutions by writing documentation, diagrams and code comments
Debug and document existing systems through code analysis
Contribute to Application management activities such as Business continuity, SDLC ERM activities, technical refresh support, critical surveys, analysis, platform releases, patching, vulnerabilities; and system management support for Technology mandates.
Provides rotational off-hours production support (level 3 on-call support)

Essential Qualifications:

8+ years of JAVA experience
7+ years of Object Oriented experience
2+ years of Angular experience
3+ years of Web Services experience
2+ years of Oracle experience
2+ year of Linux experience

Desired Qualifications:

Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Solid problem solving skills
Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge and understanding of Agile
5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
Experience with Test Automation tools

Other Desired

1+ years HTML 5, XML, XSD, XSL, AJAX and JQuery
3+ years Business understanding of Trading applications
Experience working in a large enterprise environment
Experience with Banking Platforms and associated operations
Operational knowledge and understanding of financial services product terminology
Experience with PAC2K, Quality Center, Test Director and ALM
Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysi
Bachelor degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance or related discipline
