Desired Candidate Profile
We are currently seeking an experienced software engineer to build new functions, features and improving performance, scalability of Glassbeams technology platform. The platform consists of a domain specific language implemented as a SCALA based compiler. The language exposes high-level constructs to help parse unstructured data (log files) and define/create a data warehouse in a NoSQL based data store Cassandra. The technology is deployed on the cloud on Linux virtual servers.Our Ideal Candidate
Understanding of pros, cons, speed, applicability of collections (container classes)
Deep understanding of threading model or Actor model, distributing processing (multiple cores,
and multiple nodes)
Knowledge of Distributed database system, e.g. Cassandra, HBase
Strong knowledge of Regular expressions (Scala)
Knowledge of Java, POJO (non-EJB)
Knowledge of technologies such as JDK 1.7, 32 & 64 bitCentOS (or Redhat) 6, or Ubuntu 12..04
BE/B.Tech in computer science or similar streams.
Bonus Points for:
Experience in SCALA for at least 4 years.
Experience with building REST APIs and middleware
Experience using modern web frameworks such as Play
Experience in Cassandra
Knowledge of Text parsing/indexing; Lucene, Solr, Solandra.
Performance measurements and improvements with JVM (including) GC tuning.
