Job Description
Principal Consultant Senior Business Analyst
The candidate will be part of the team contributing to the global deliverables. The candidate will be a member of the business analysis team in India and globally, working closely with Operations counterparts to ensure consistency, transparency and increased efficiency to the business.
Responsibilities
- Provides business analysis, architecture and solution oversight to the Securities Settlement delivery team.
- Responsible for the adherence to standards and follow the software development life cycle
- Oversees system design, including interfaces to other applications. Also, makes sure, that the solution is embedded in the application domain in agreement with the responsible Domain/Solution Architect
- Reviews functional specification and design documentation (e.g. logical data model, mappings, etc.) prepared by the developers, with sufficient detail to allow development to proceed in order to facilitate delivery of the specified functions within the agreed timeframes
- Coordinating between Support, CTO and Release management team on all L3 and Environment related activities.
- Articulating the securities business functions to both Operations and IT colleagues.
- Support the Delivery Managers in the production of project status material for communications
- Understanding, validating and communicating functional changes to a wider project group in order to foster change.
- Liaising with onshore and offshore teams to estimate and deliver changes.
- Help guide the Project Manager on the scope, the degree of change, risks, dependencies across both technology and business streams
- Document changes by owning or contributing to project artifacts such as BRD (Business Requirements Documentation), QA (Quality Assurance and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) plans.
- Educating Operations, IT and QA teams on the functional nature of change, the wider implications of proposed changes to existing processes and procedures and providing a coherent assessment of changes to the nonfunctional aspect to the platform.
- Evaluate, test and recommend new opportunities for enhancing our software, hardware and IT processes.
- Partner, through regular liaisons with Operations, New Business, QA, Developers, Cross departmental leads, CISO, Risk IT in terms of overall project delivery.
- Facilitating Business and IT leads around information pertaining to deliverables as needed.
- Supports and coordinates the team s compliance with internal policies and procedures
- Provide and comply with all audits, regulatory commitment on a timely fashion.
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
- Degree educated in a related subject (IT/Math/ Engineering/Finance/Business)
Preferred qualifications
- Business analysis experience in Post Trade processing and Securities Settlement
- In-depth experience of Investment Banking Securities processing, trade life cycle, various financial products and market risk concepts including Equities and Fixed Income Settlements, Asset Servicing, Custody, Collateral and Clearing
- Strong experience of working with Front Office, Middle Office and Operations users and Senior IT Management, along with fellow Technology professionals, to understand, capture and manage requirements for improving and expanding the business s technology platform and its related business processes, on a global and regional basis
- Strong background in business and system analysis and design skills and good understanding of software development practices (agile, waterfall etc.)
- The candidate should have a Systems Engineering background where they have demonstrated a clear ability to guide and nurture development teams
- Wide experience of client handling, stakeholder management, giving demos and documenting requirements, specification documents, process flows, functional architectures, etc.
- Proven business analysis experience on large projects within an Operations or Front Office environment.
- Good command of English with strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt the communication to various senior stakeholders
- Excellent documentation, training and presentation skills.
- Proven IT Business Analysis experience. Project management experience is a plus
- A team player and a self-starter, who can proactively engage with peers and clients, take ownership and lead from front to ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment for all stakeholders
- Ability to work at a fast pace in a team and adapt style to ensure the project is successful
- Enthusiastic, open, motivated personality with a proven can-do attitude and a track record of solving complex challenges
- Strong team building and interpersonal skills is a must
- Development experience and Technical skills in SQL and Java is a plus
- Ability to work with and influence global teams in the areas on functional change is mandatory
- BA experience in a large financial institution
- Experience of working with IT development teams on project deliverables
- Proven track record working with stakeholders across Operations, Front office & IT
- Ability to apply structured, logical and analytical thought process to resolving issues
- Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department
- Planning and organizational skills, ability to own problems through to resolution
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
