POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Head for India is an executive level position responsible and accountable for driving business results and organizational effectiveness through the development, deployment, and management of the India Marketing organization, taking our brand and organization to the next level. This is a key strategic position critical to the achievement of our charter to be a best-in-class Marketing organization that drives revenue growth with existing and new customers across all targeted customer and industry segments in the market unit.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Strategy Development and Execution

  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative marketing programs in partnership with Senior Leadership team.
  • Ensure that persuasive, consistent and concise positioning occurs throughout all marketing programs within the customer segment/industry /solution/region
  • Provide strategic direction and help drive strong alignment and integration among different areas (within and outside Marketing) through joint business planning efforts.

Marketing Operations Excellence

  • Ensure cross organizational alignment departmental, LOB to identify best practices, opportunities, shared learning, leveraged resources, innovation, etc.
  • Lead the team to operational excellence ensuring scale, best practice definition, continuous learning and transition from strategy to deliverable.
  • Contribute sales insight to the delivery & processes; ensure alignment with sales objectives and marketing and business development strategy
  • Effectively manage the marketing budget and make decisions regarding investment for targeted business needs
  • Create and communicate goals, objectives and KPI's for all marketing initiatives and ensure ROI is achieved
  • Build productive and influential executive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Management Excellence

  • Align resources to maximize highest leverage of opportunities for pipeline growth and ROI
  • Be able to manage different regions with their own particular needs
  • Build and retain a high-performing team with complementary strengths
  • Ensure performance and role expectations are clearly defined, communicated & executed
  • Provide leadership and guidance to peers, managed employees and the organization
  • Drive best in class organization
  • Understand, embrace, and cascade the company strategy to build organizations and empower manager.
  • Build open, honest relationships with senior-level peers and share feedback from these peers with own department staff to foster a dialogue of ongoing feedback within SAP.
  • Develop the next level of leaders by effectively delegating management activities, encouraging stretch goals and expecting department wins to be shared/recognized/rewarded to ensure a solid SAP management pipeline
  • Ensure effective management of the employee life cycle by actively participating in recruitment, selection, performance, succession planning, development, and transition activities.
  • Understand and leverage relevant SAP HR and People tools and strategies that apply to individuals and teams
  • Create an atmosphere where timely and quality information flows smoothly
  • Reward success and accomplishment with timely recognition of achievement
  • Continuous Development - ensure team maintains a high level of expertise

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

This position requires a minimum of 15 years of business experience with an emphasis on leading Marketing teams focused on cloud strategies and innovative business models. A degree in marketing/business (or equivalent) is required and an advanced degree is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate would also have experience working in an international, matrix-based and collaborative organization setting.

The candidate must be a heavy hitter with demonstrated capability to drive vision to execution. S/he should thrive in a demanding, quick turnaround environment where change is a daily reality. Must have experience in managing budget effectively across multiple departments, and setting up effective metrics and business processes.
