Principal Managed NAND Standards Engineer

Location : Bangalore / Hyderabad

This position is a permanent position with our client (US Based Semiconductor Product Company with revenue more than 30 Billion USD)

Our Nonvolatile Engineering Group is focused on developing leading-edge memory controller and System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, incorporating advanced HW and FW to enable Our SSD and Managed NAND product roadmap.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

In this role, you will work with standardization bodies as well as internally with cross-functional teams to drive our agenda within the mobile storage standards. Your new responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Represent us in standardization bodies (MIPI, JEDEC, etc.)
  • Track new proposals and drive internal discussions with Architecture and Development teams
  • Review and analyze future standards which may enter the Managed NAND space
  • Coordinate within our effective standards proposals, including those which span standards bodies
  • Promote our Managed NAND interests to standards representatives of other companies
  • Generate new ideas and approaches to solve problems within the standards domain
  • Influence our product development based on standards innovation

Required experience & skill set:

  • 10+ Years Experience working within standardization bodies is a big plus
  • Experience working within standardization bodies is a big plus
  • Experience in ASIC/SoC design, M-PHY, UniPro, PCIe, SERDES
  • Experience in storage protocols: eMMC, UFS, SCSI, NVMe
  • Experience in SSD and/or Managed NAND
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and understand detailed architecture with emphasis on cost, power, performance and the system level tradeoffs between them
  • Demonstrated ability to understand system-level consequences from component-level changes
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and disciplined abilities
  • Ability to work with other engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers of various positions
  • Experience working with off-shore teams in a multi-national environment
  • Must be able to travel frequently (international)

Education:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or an equivalent required
