Job Description
Consultant DAPS
Installation & Configuration of VERITAS Net Backup, Media Server & Clients versions mentioned below on across various Operating System platforms like UNIX, Windows and Linux environments
Configuring Policies (both automated and manual backups), Storage Devices, Storage Units, and Volumes.
Proficient in creation and configuration of backup policies such as file systems, SLP, SQL, VMware, Hyper-V, Exchange, Oracle, Lotus Notes, NDMP and Sybase databases for various Net-Back up clients
Perform backups, restores, analyzing logs and troubleshooting errors.
Ability in restoration of SQL Databases using SQL server agent, NDMP(Filers), Exchange Mailboxes and File server data client on respective environment
Catalog Backups and importing Images.
Hands-on knowledge in creating backup scripts for user backup for UNIX and Windows servers.
Update status of media and sending them to offsite
Work to resolve Error code, Drive issues, Library related issues when backup or restore effects at functional level.
Knowledge on Opscenter reports configuration and export reports from the Opscenter Server
Knowledge and experience with Storage Area Networks and NAS/SAN devices (Also Troubleshooting and configuration of SCSI and FC devices like Tape Libraries and EMC Data Domain etc
Knowledge on Configuring the backups through Physical (SUN Storagetek tape libraries) & Virtual Tape Library s (VTL).
Installation, Configuration and Solving problems on Mid-range & High end Tape libraries & VTL.
Knowledge on Migrating/upgrading the Netbackup Master, Media and Clients to the latest versions
Coordinate with vendors for hardware break fix and project activities
Preparation of various management reports like (Operational, availability and SLA) on daily, weekly and monthly basis. Perform Services Requests & resolve incidents Prepare the SOP sQualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required. Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Preferred qualificationsVery good written and presentation / verbal communication skills with experience of customer interfacing role. In-depth requirement understanding skills with good analytical and problem solving ability, interpersonal efficiency, and positive attitude
