Assess requests for coverage of drug products that are not listed on the formulary of the Ontario Drug Benefit Program.
Review requests against approved clinical criteria, and prepare decision responses to physicians.
Collaborate with external expert reviewers on criteria and funding recommendations through the Committee to Evaluate Drug (CED) Consultant review process.
Develop, recommend and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
Provide clinical and policy advice to physicians, pharmacists, consumers and other stakeholders.
Facilitate the development, maintenance and extraction of information from the ministry's computer database.
