Job Description
Description A Business Analyst would be responsible for translating the customer requirements into detailed stories and/or work. The individual would also be involved in defining the work that engineering team will deliver and to provide daily support for their flawless execution.
. Works with product managers on product requirements, use cases, epics and sub-epics
. Define detailed breakdown of requirements into epics based on the headlines identified by product managers
. Owns documentation of epics in V1 and/or other tools/systems
. To collaborate with engineering teams to ensure they have the information needed during development, priority setting of actual work
. Participate in business requirement sessions with existing customers to identify the relationship of business needs to product features, review requirements & designs with customers and other stakeholders
. Partner with product managers to understand the application usage patterns
. Create requirements and/or epics containing detailed use cases for internal and external consumption as well as work with other product managers & architects to finalize feature designs and reviews
. Work directly with engineering team to groom user stories for use in Agile development, advise QA engineers to create usage scenarios for test
. Acts as a 'go to' person for the Kanban team
Qualifications . 5+ years of experience with Business Analyst role in delivering next generation UI products, innovative user interface design requirements and collaborating with cross geography teams
. Ideally understands Payroll and Tax Compliance in the United States and/or Canada
. Experience with Agile/Lean Software Development practices such as Kanban or Scrum, JIRA, Aha
. Prior experience in a Product Owner or Business Analyst role, in either Product Development or Information Technology fields
. Ability to work directly with external and/or internal customers to define, analyze and document business requirements
. Ability to elicit information about business processes, use cases and necessary data models to identify solutions that are efficient and provide customer value
. Ability to interpret user requirements based on a given business need, requirements gathering and analysis sessions, negotiate requirement priorities across project stakeholders
. Ability to create clear and concise documentation, collaborate with multiple internal resources to design solution and ensure project team understanding
. Ability to test completed project against specification prior to project being delivered
. Excellent written and oral communication
. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail
. Good understanding of industry, customers and the state of technology to build better products, assessment of competitors products to ensure our product enhancement if required
