Job Description
Responsibilities:1.Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand. This includes current deployment and monitoring tools and processes.
2.Review and create operation runbooks and be able to provide support, investigation, resolution or escalation for cloud related issues.
3.When issues arise, help find a solution, make suggestions, and help with a root cause analysis.
4.Assist other engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team.
5.Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, manpower and time necessary to complete the solution.
6.Provide clear goals for all areas of a project and develop steps to oversee a timely execution.
7.Work closely with engineering professionals within the company to maintain hardware and software requirements for projects to be completed efficiently in both performance and costs.
8.Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and the implementation of initiatives.
9.Self-motivated to work independently and as a member of a team.
10.The ability to solve issues, but also the knowledge of when to timely escalate an issue to the appropriate personnel.
11.Document and orally explain processes in a clear and concise manner.
12.Follow all security and operational best practices, policies and procedures.
13.The ability to research an issue or idea and come up with a plan to implement.
14.Provide assistance to other teams as needed.
Qualifications
The following skills and experiences are required:
Amazon AWS services - EC2, EKS, S3, VPC, Workspaces, and others
Linux (Redhat and Debian based)
Windows Server
Working knowledge in Docker containers, Kubernetes and helm charts
Monitoring, logging and Application Performance Management
Knowledge of the SQL query language, database tables and structures and data warehouses to build executive dashboards and reports
Scripting languages: shell, javascript, python, php, bash, powershell, ansible
Jenkins, Travis, Octopus build and deployment systems
Github and GitHub Actions
The ability to clearly communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of Active Directory
Ability to setup Windows and Mac workstations and diagnose common user issues
