Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible and accountable for local team development, delivering assigned engineering projects/subprojects/packages on time, in quality, and on schedule to customers. The scope covers tendering and project execution. You are also responsible to drive continuous improvement activities across teams for Energy Industries local division in India based out of Bangalore.
- Bachelors' degree in Instrumentation Technology / Electronics with 15 + years of combined experience in leadership/management and engineering.
- A clear understanding of the engineering of process flow in the automation industry. Technical Experience working with Automation (DCS/PLC), Instrumentation, Telecom, and Electrical solutions
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications and related engineering & business software applications.
- A general understanding of network engineering and IT is a plus.
- Experience with handling a large customer base and projects.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and execute effective KPIs.
- Poses strong people management skills that create highly motivated individuals who work together as a team to execute a well-defined strategy
Responsibilities
- Defining and ensuring implementation of operating guidelines for the team. Serves as an escalation point for individual and systemic engineering issues within the local division.
- Takes oversight of the planning and control process in the Engineering teams. Holds regular reviews to ensure that the teams are delivering work to both the customers and Company requirements.
- Takes contractual oversight of work within their own area of responsibility, holds regular progress reviews and identifies and manages contract risks while ensuring the delivery of technical solutions according to customer requirements.
- Initiates and drives continuous improvement activities. develops, implements, and improves relevant processes, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the engineering function. Ensures local procedures align with division and hub processes and procedures and are correctly implemented.
- Providing engineering support during the bid phase and ensuring that the resources required to deliver the technical solutions are correctly accounted for (e.g. the requirements for safety, technical competence, quality, schedule, and cost). Support sales and bids team with technical presentations to customers.
- Ensuring that the engineering team is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies Develop technical competency and skill set of the engineering team
- Provide advanced solutions by interacting with customers to create business for Service.
