Job Description
Summary: A Software Engineer works under general supervision as part of a Development Team. At this level a developer has an influence on the team and good knowledge of development processes and procedures. A Software Engineer is involved in the timely execution and delivery of tasks in the areas of product design, product development, component testing, product maintenance and quality assurance, and is involved in code reviews and process improvements. Responsibilities:- Design and develop and maintain software solutions under the direction of a Team Lead and/or designee.
- Delivers to a high quality standard within agreed time scales.
- Plans and takes ownership of own work and any issues relating to same.
- Solves problems that arise in own area of responsibility.
- Develops technical competence on technologies relating to assignments and other technologies as directed
- Accountable for following defined processes and procedures, and highlighting in a timely manner any related problems with same.
- Accountable for applying knowledge and ingenuity to solve basic to moderate problems that arise in areas of responsibility, and escalating when necessary.
- Accountable for the timely execution of agreed objectives, to a high quality standard, under the direction of a Senior Lead and, where necessary, with the guidance of more experienced Developers
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in delivering business intelligence solutions
- Must have experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse or Data Warehouse using Oracle/
- Advanced knowledge and skills in SQL to run queries for data analysis and data profiling
- Strong technical experience in the areas of data analysis, database design and design and implementation of ETL processes, using Oracle ODI would be a distinct advantage
- Experience in data streaming using Kinesis/Striim
- Experience working closely with Application Developers and Systems Analysts
- Experience in continuous Integration, Deliveryand Deployment
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a purse, fast-paced, and collaborative environment
- In addition, experience in following would be an advantage
- SOAP and/or RESTFul Web Services
- Core Java
- Oracle/ETL Performance Tuning
