Responsible for overall planning of nursing care of patients and for assignment of patients to nurses working in the ward. 2 Rendering direct nursing care to the ill patients & directly assisting the surgeons in major operations. 3. Ensuring that total health needs of patients are met.

Roles and Responsibilities

To plan for and carry out all procedures of patient care including administration of medication according to standing instructions, assisting Doctors in various medical and surgical diagnostic procedures, performing diagnostic procedures, collecting and sending of specimens to lab, prepares patient for operations.

Makes a complete assessment of all assigned patients on admission / at the beginning of the shift so as to plan the activities in order of priority while applying principles of safe patient care.

To provide hands-on care to patients by administering medications, managing intravenous lines, observing and monitoring patients' conditions, maintaining records and communicating with doctors.

Check the special assignment like checking of crash cart, checking inventory or any other assignment given by in charges.

Take over of all patients as per the guidelines and protocol.

Brief and guide patients about the procedure.
