Job Description

A business development manager (BDM) in an insurance company is responsible for growing the business by identifying new sales opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and developing business strategies:

Client relationships: Maintain and strengthen relationships with current clients and identify potential clients
Sales development: Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various methods
Business strategies: Develop business strategies and partnerships
Market research: Research industry and market trends to identify competitors, emerging opportunities, and trends
Product design: Collaborate with product and underwriting teams to design and present customized insurance solutions
Proposals: Work with the sales team to develop mutually beneficial proposals
Contract terms: Negotiate contract terms
Staff management: Recruit, screen, and train new agents, and ensure staff exercise good time management
Compliance: Ensure compliance with agency regulations, guidelines, and policies
