Job Description
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Plan and configure network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand network requirements and deliver customized solutions.
- Configure and manage network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, access points) to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor network performance, diagnose issues, and implement optimizations to improve speed, reliability, and efficiency.
- Implement network protocols, routing strategies, and redundancy techniques to ensure network stability and minimize downtime.
- Provide proactive monitoring of the network and respond to issues related to connectivity, performance, or security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues including hardware failures, performance degradation, and connectivity problems.
- Work with vendors and third-party support to resolve complex network issues and escalations.
- Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and encryption.
- Monitor network traffic for security vulnerabilities and respond to potential threats or attacks.
- Ensure network infrastructure complies with relevant security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Use network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios) to track network performance, availability, and usage.
- Generate regular reports on network health, traffic patterns, and security status to inform stakeholders and senior management.
- Identify and report on emerging network issues and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, architecture, and operational procedures.
- Ensure network diagrams, IP addressing schemes, and configuration files are properly documented and up to date.
- Provide clear, concise reporting on network status and changes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., systems administrators, cloud engineers, security teams) to integrate network systems with other infrastructure components.
- Provide technical support to internal teams or end-users regarding network issues.
- Support the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to network infrastructure.
