Purpose of the job To manage R&D activities and day-to-day operations through supervising and management of a team, ensuring of delivery the product development plan and quality programs in the waterproofing category required by the South Asia BU Deco business . This role will be responsible for new product development , value engineering and quality improvement projects in the waterproof segment and also building future technology in the segment to deliver future new products in coming years Key responsibilities Category lead: Leading a team and ensuring execution and delivery of agreed plans, using multiple areas of expertise available. Ensuring preparation, testing, developing, analysing and researching elements (e.g. problems, questions, ideas) in own discipline. Attracting, leading, coaching, appraising and developing team members. Demonstrating and driving safety leadership. Driving engagement and managing talent development and succession planning Manages the execution of the multi-year plan in own team, safeguards planning and budget of activities in own team and provides input to the development of the year plan. Partner within R&D and other departments (like supply chain and/or marketing) to align activities with commercial plans. Works with various stakeholders including suppliers to develop a marketing leading innovation pipeline. Level of autonomy Manage operations of teams. Product Formulation development & implementation. Job Requirements New Product Development 8-10 years of relevant experience of R&D in waterproofing or construction chemical industry Bachelors Degree as a minimum Excellent communicator and facilitator.
