Overview:

As a Software Engineering Manager, within Software Engineering R&D is responsible for setting direction and leadership to development teams, working on medium to large scale global projects. She/he will be responsible for Technical Direction to the teams, Project Management and People Management for driving the R&D functions.

This position requires strong technical and people management, excellent communication, and hands-on product development skills.

• You are responsible for ensuring technical designs, architectural decisions and interaction with customers and product management team to provide direction and visions
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, with scalable and cloud compliant designs and within agreed upon quality standards
• Work closely with cross-functional teams within OpenText and partner with key stakeholders.
• You will also be involved in cross-team planning activities such as providing status updates and coordinating activities
• You will contribute directly to product/applications development, taking responsibility for, handling key development tasks, delivering results, communicating team status/progress vis-a-vis deliverables.
• You have good software development skills and should have the right attitude to learn and actively participate in product development.

What the Role Offers:

• Facilitate regular Steering Committee meetings on containerization and present to senior level management
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, internal and external

• Build and maintain effective relationships within team and its ecosystem (among teams, sustenance, product management etc.,) and collaborate well to drive improvements, leverage and showcase best practices in the context of software delivery.
• Should be able to succeed in an ambiguous environment and be able to cope under pressure and persevere.

What you need to succeed:

• Minimum Bachelor of Engineering or B. Tech or equivalent experience in Computer Science
• 10+ years of industry engineering experience and leading agile teams in Scrum Master roles
• Must have hands-on Java full stack development experience in systems level engineering with emphasis on application and communications architecture, data management, and low-level application infrastructure.
• Experience in leading scrum teams and experience is a must. Experience with SAFe is an advantage.
• Documentum or Life Sciences experience is advantage
• An ability to organize, plan and create a team environment where everyone in the team can perform their best.
• Ability to serve as a technical leader and mentor at an architectural and coding level to the team.
• Should have good understanding and hands-on with tools related to CI-CD/DevOps.
• Hands on experience in modern Java, Docker Containers, Kubernetes and Rest Services, Spring, and Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS or any other UI technologies.
• Containerization, DevOps, exposure to Cloud technologies and Hyperscales such as GCP/AWS.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Must be Proactive and result oriented.
