Job Description
- Position Summary: Experience : 8+years Location : Chennai The role is to work within the Innovations team to develop new products in the field of Welding and Plasma Cutting Power supplies and peripherals. The role will involve Power Electronics and control Electronics design activities, testing activities in our laboratory and supporting offsite testing, working with suppliers to develop efficient manufacturing solutions, and supporting the team with hardware development. The Candidate shall be capable of having sound knowledge in analog/digital circuits design. Sound knowledge in DC-DC converter Isolated and Non Isolated. Good knowledge and understanding specification of IGBTs MOSFET & SCRs and advanced components like GaN, SiC. Sound knowledge in modeling and simulation of power electronics circuits in Pspice, MATLAB, LTspice Capable of designing signal conditioning circuits using op amp and comparators Good knowledge on closed loop control design using analog and digital PWM controllers. Good knowledge and understanding electrical components & wire and cables specification. Interact with global Electrical/Mechanical Engineers (India, Sweden, Poland and USA) to accomplish design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT) according to industry standards such as IEC, IPC etc. Technical Requirements Demonstrated Experience in design of Electrical and Power Electronics circuits Modeling and simulation of Power Electronics circuits using Ltspice, Pspice or PSIM etc., Design, Testing , qualification and reporting of an electronic product. Good understanding of EMI/EMC and mitigation techniques Sound knowledge on power electronics basic, converter and inverter analysis, and simulation Sound knowledge in analog and digital electronics; able to read and understand the schematics Experience in design of ECAD and demonstrated competency in bringup PCBAs Knowledge in Electronic trouble shooting and problem solving skills Understanding of Microcontrollers and digital circuits; experience in working with the Embedded Engineers Knowledge in Product development tools like DFMEA and DFX Mentoring the Electronic Design Engineers for the product development and system integration Performing electrical, thermal, and mechanical analysis and testing of power electronics products. Understanding specifications of sensors and transducers and their integrity with Control Electronics and signal conditioning. Experience Requirements Should have >5 years experience in the relevant field (for Bachelor of Engineering) Should have >3 years experience in the relevant field (for Master of Engineering) Preferrable to have experience in Welding/Cutting and Power Converter design Preferrable to have experience in Altium tools,
