Job Description
The fast-growing NSG DevOps-Buildsystem team is responsible for supporting our NSG Product teams to deliver the build system infrastructure required for the various engineering teams.
As an DevOps-Buildsystem Engineer, you will be responsible for introducing process, tools and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development lifecycle, from coding and deployment to maintenance and updates.
You will be responsible for streamlining development team velocity via stable and robust deployment of CI/CD pipeline process all while ensuring health via monitoring build progress logs, resolving broken build chains and observing dashboard metrics as new instances come online.
What you will do
- Create on-premise buildsystem infrastructure resources.
- Contribute to the design and development of robust and resilient CI/CD pipelines for NSG products.
- Work in a Globally dispersed team .
- Build and run enterprise quality DevOps tooling for Engineering teams.
- Work with engineering functions to develop and deliver innovative solutions to problems found in production.
- Work with your colleagues and other engineering teams to identify areas of opportunity and propose improvements to internal and/or production infrastructure.
- Carry personal responsibility for high quality changes to a live production infrastructure.
- Create estimates and work plans then deliver according to those plans in an agile manner.
- Be part of an on-call rotation; Occasionally participate during, or outside of, working hours in incident resolution as a subject matter expert.
- Occasionally carry out changes outside of normal working hours.
What you will bring
- Minimum 6 year s experience of buildsystem development using IaC such as Terraform, Helm, Github Github Actions.
- Ability to design, implement and operate automated production class, reliable deployment pipelines.
- Hands-on Familiarity with SonarQube and BlackDuck
- Development experience of creating Kubernetes resources using Helm.
- Ability to create from scratch, and modify existing, pipeline scripts using Shell or Python
- Linux systems administration.
- Should have experience working on Makefiles (GNU Make)
- Demonstrable experience of delivering modern DevOps practices for the full development lifecycle.
- Additional technology stack required: Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Artfiactory, Proxmox/Vmware, BackstageIO,
