As our Infrastructure team gears up for the onset of Data centre projects globally, we are now looking to grow and have a number of positions available for Mechanical Engineers with 10+ years of experience and having been involved and completed at least one data centre. The role is a Mechanical SME in our HQ at Navi Mumbai. The person would be involved in providing Mechanical services from Mumbai to the global platform. Responsibilities :
- Design (Concept, FEED and Detail Design) of mechanical systems as per local and International standards Indian, APAC, and EMEA
- Creating detailed design and engineering for Tier 3/ 4 Data centre build including master layout design for HVAC, piping and ductwork, Plumbing, HSD and CPM integration
- Understanding and preparing equipment tender BOQ s with necessary technical specifications, layouts, heat load calculations, ventilation calculations reviewing CFD reports, PUE calculations etc.
- Interacting with the customers to understand their business requirement and designing the Data centres.
- Ensuring proper design planning and delivery as per defined schedule.
- Interacting with Vendors and contractors
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation (drawings/ calculations/ reports / PowerPoint slides)
- Prepare Design Basis, Calculations, PID schematics, equipment sizing calculations and specifications which includes defining of performance set points for mechanical equipment such as Air/ water cooled chillers, pumps, thermal storages, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAHs, Fan wall Units as a when required. Working knowledge of I/O lists, loop Diagrams, and Instrument datasheets shall be an added advantage.
- Coordination with Electrical/ Security/ BMS discipline for finalising the electrical loads for mechanical equipment, I/O points as well as allocating power provisions in drawings
- Direct experience with (or direct management of teams using) one or more of the following applications will be considered a plus:AutoDesk AutoCAD, AutoDesk AutoCAD 3D or AutoDesk Revit MEP.
- Preparing Request for Quotation(RFQ), review of technical offers, tender returns and relevant documents from Vendors.
- Review of vendor drawings and datasheet approvals for various mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate with Designers, Architects, Structural Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Process Engineers, any other external design consultant, if required, independently and conclusively.
- Contribute to conceptual report writing and preparation of construction plans, technical specifications, Design Basis reports, and SOOs.
- Experience in the application of liquid immersion cooling techniques shall be an added advantage.
- All other duties as EoR
Qualifications :
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Strong problem-solving, technical, math, and science skills
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Able to lead and motivate team members.
- Strong documentation management skills.
