Job Description
- As a Selenium Automation Tester, your role is to design, develop, and execute automated tests using the Selenium framework
- You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications by identifying bugs, conducting test scripts, and collaborating with development and quality assurance teams
- Here are the key responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the position of a Selenium Automation Tester:Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand software requirements and define test objectives, strategies, and scope
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for automated testing using Selenium
- Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and other related tools and frameworks
- Create reusable functions, libraries, and test data sets to enhance test automation efficiency
- Test Execution and Analysis: Execute automated test scripts, analyze test results, and report defects or bugs using bug tracking tools
- Perform root cause analysis on failed tests and provide recommendations for issue resolution
- Collaborate with development and quality assurance teams to investigate and resolve issues
- Test Environment Setup: Set up and configure the test environment, including test data, test servers, and test databases
- Install and configure Selenium WebDriver and related dependencies
- Collaborate with system administrators or DevOps teams to ensure a stable and consistent test environment
- Test Data Management: Create and manage test data sets, ensuring data integrity and consistency for automated testing
- Develop strategies for managing test data, including data generation, data masking, and data cleanup
- Test Automation Framework: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the test automation framework, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reusability
- Implement best practices and coding standards to optimize test automation efficiency
- Continuous Integration and Delivery: Integrate test automation with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure automated tests are executed as part of the CI/CD process, providing timely feedback on build quality
- Test Reporting and Documentation: Prepare test reports and document test results, including test coverage, defects, and overall test progress
- Provide clear and concise documentation of test processes, test scripts, and test data for future reference
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams, to ensure effective communication and alignment of testing activities
- Participate in meetings, discussions, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement in the testing process
- Test Maintenance and Regression Testing: Maintain and update automated test scripts to accommodate changes in software requirements or application functionality
- Conduct regression testing to ensure the stability and integrity of previously tested functionalities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Selenium Automation Tester or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Selenium WebDriver and related tools and frameworks
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python
- Experience in test automation using Selenium, including test script development and execution
- Familiarity with test management tools and bug tracking systems
- Understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and experience working in agile teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and troubleshoot issues
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment
- ISTQB or other software testing certifications (preferred)
