Job Description
- Monitor and troubleshoot existing Cognos BI Reports, including framework models and powerplay cubes and ensure the availability of Cognos reporting for the end-users.
- Monitor the integrity and validity of the data.
- Analyze BI requirements and enhance existing/ create new Cognos Reporting solutions to support standard reporting, Dashboard, Storyboard, and self-service environment.
- Develop reports sourcing data from Planning Analytics (formerly TM1) and IBM Powerplay Cubes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document BI requirements.
- Analyze BI requirements and design/develop Cognos Reporting solutions to support standard reporting, Dashboard, Storyboard, and self-service environment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the business and presentation layers of the BI model that is business-friendly and supports a self-service environment.
- Perform Unit, smoke testing of the Cognos reports and validate the data between the report against the output from database.
- Maintain/manage the security aspects of the BI Platform including user/group provisioning, security role maintenance, and integration with Active Directory.
- Assist with testing platform upgrades.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with bachelor s degree or 5 years of advanced reporting experience. Most recent experience must be Business Intelligence/Data Analytics focused with at least 3 year of hands-on experience in advanced/complex report development using Cognos.
- Proficiency with Cognos Analytics (11. X) and its Product Suite (Report Studio, Framework Manager, Transformer)
- Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and procedural SQL scripting languages
- Experienced in Framework Manager Dimensional Modeling, Transformer cube design, and development.
- People person, team player with a strong can-do mentality
- Understanding of data warehousing, OLAP concepts
- Must be an inquisitive learner and have a thirst for improvement.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience, familiarity, and ease with analyzing large, multi-dimensional data sets.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to engage with multiple stakeholders and different teams to deliver BI solutions efficiently.
- Highly motivated, result-oriented self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to function well independently as well as in a team.
- Experience with Java Scripting
- Experience with MDX
- Experience working with data sourced from JD Edwards
- Experience working in a DevOps environment.
- Understanding of SOX and project management principles and concepts
