Position Purpose
Responsible for preparing South Indian and Indian Dishes.
Responsible for managing other members of the food preparation team, deciding what dishes to serve and adjusting orders to meet guests' requests.
Key Accountabilities
Accountability:
To identify & develop appropriate ingredients as and when required, as a part of product development so as to ensure consistency of the product.
Ensuring effective commercialization (time, quality, yield, cost) along with supply chain team.
Ability to communicate and work with cross functional departments to get best product mix for the units.
Coaches the comi chef and other members of the kitchen staff, so they perform at their best
Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
Acts with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfaces
Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
Occasionally takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy
Cooks guests' orders according to their preferences.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited University
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, problem solving skills.
Required Experiences
Bachelor's degree from an accredited University.
At least 4 - 5 years-experience in the food industry.
Strong understanding of Food Costs, production and menu analysis
Updated with new trends in food industry.
Can bring together large work forces to focus on common objective
Good knowledge of south and north Indian cuisine. Any other cuisine knowledge is an added bonus
Large production background, corporate catering background preferred
