Job Description
Role Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled BO/Power BI Consultant to support the maintenance and enhancement of existing SAP BusinessObjects (BO) reports while facilitating a strategic transition to Power BI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both BO and Power BI technologies and be capable of independently managing end-to-end dashboard development, semantic layer recreation, and business stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:Maintain and enhance existing SAP BusinessObjects (BO) reports.
Plan and implement the migration of reporting logic and data models from BO to Power BI.
Recreate BO Universes (UNV/UNX) as semantic layers in Power BI using Power Query and data modeling techniques.
Translate BO report logic to Power BI, leveraging DAX and Power Query for advanced calculations and transformations.
Independently develop and manage end-to-end Power BI dashboards, including data sourcing, modeling, visualization, and deployment.
Perform administrative tasks related to Power BI service, including workspace management, user access, and gateway configuration.
Collaborate with business users and leadership teams to gather requirements and deliver insightful, visually compelling dashboards.
Ensure best practices in Power BI development and data governance are followed.
Expertise in Power BI: Proven experience in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query, and report/dashboard design.
SAP BusinessObjects (BO): Strong experience in BO report maintenance and understanding of BO Universes (UNV/UNX).
SQL: Advanced skills in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation.
Power BI Administration: Hands-on experience with Power BI service administration, including gateway setup, workspace management, and user roles.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with business teams and senior leadership.
Self-Starter: Able to work independently and take full ownership of reporting and dashboard initiatives.
Experience with migration projects from BO to Power BI.
Familiarity with enterprise data environments and reporting governance frameworks.
Certifications in Power BI or SAP BO are a plus.
