Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify the accuracy of e-books, digital formats (EPUB, MOBI, PDF), and other publishing files.
- Perform thorough quality checks to ensure proper formatting, layout, and consistency of text, images, and multimedia elements.
- Collaborate with authors, editors, designers, and developers to address and resolve any content discrepancies or issues.
- Test and troubleshoot e-books on various platforms and devices (e-readers, tablets, mobile phones, desktops) to ensure compatibility.
- Conduct pre- and post-publishing checks to identify any defects or formatting issues before final approval.
- Maintain detailed records of quality control processes, findings, and corrective actions taken.
- Monitor and enforce best practices for file structure, metadata, and accessibility in accordance with industry standards.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency in the publishing workflow.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the E-Publishing industry to ensure the highest level of quality.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within the E-Publishing or Book Publishing industry.
- Strong knowledge of various digital publishing formats (EPUB, MOBI, PDF, etc.).
- Proficient in tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Calibre, and other e-book editing/validation software.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot errors in formatting, layout, and content.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices in digital publishing is a plus.
