Job Description
This position exists in order to provide correct and reliable Information and services to the company which relates to operational activity of the company at ICD ACTL, and also to provide best services in terms of coordinating with Other Departments like the ICD authorities, Railways, Customs, shippers/CHAs, surveyors, shipping lines, transport vendors etc and complying with Company statutory requirements.
(As a back up role) There is also a need to manage the booking of containers and 'posting' of train journeys in the system from various locations pan India as a crucial input to completing the commercial cycle of every service delivery in the system. Every posting of a journey in the sytem is linked to both the commercial and operational aspects of that journey. Commercial aspect: generation of the Invoices to the customers whose containers have been moved on that journey as well as generation of the Purchase Orders for the vendors who have provided services pertaining to that journey. Operational aspect: Generation of operational MIS.
This role is critical since the journeys have to be posted in the system accurately and in time.
Key Result Areas:
What does the job need to deliver? How is it measurable?1)Quick turn around of rakes from the ICD
2)Railway Management- effective liaison with Railways for operational and commercial requirements
3)Inventory Management- Effective monitoring of road transport movement of containers, liaison with CHAs/surveyors for handover of containers.
4)Vendor Management- Effective monitoring pf transport vendors and surveyors
Mid year and year end evaluation of individual's performance, by analysing instances of failures pertaining to the above KRAs.
Back Up Role:
1)Managing correct and timely booking and posting of train journeys in the system--By analysing cases of deviation
2)Managing correct and timely cost updating in the system - By analysing cases of negative deviations
Key Accountabilities/ Duties:
- Provide the Advance inward unloading memo of IILPL rakes inbound to ICDLoni.
- Maintaining/monitoring the list of containers (export pendency) of IILPL at the ICD. To this end the incumbent will be required to liaise with the CHAs/shippers/surveyors to receive the Forwarding Notes.
- Providing the loading plan to the ICD in time for the incoming IILPL rake.
- Monitoring the placement/withdrawal of the IILPL rake in the ICD by liaising with the railways. Ensuring prompt handling of the rake (unloading and loading) by the ICD.
- Monitor the surveyors for a correct and timely survey of the containers loaded on the rake.
- Correct and timely payment of the railway haulage to the commercial staff of railways posted at the ICD.
- Timely and accurate uploading of train summary in the system with FNR. Mailing the export train summary to the corporate office soon after departure of the train.
- Liaise with the corporate office for exchanging information like forwarding notes etc.
- Liaise with port ops of IILPL for quick and correct despatch of import landing certificates (to be submitted by the port ops to the port customs) and receipt of export landing certificates (to be submitted by the incumbent to the ICD customs).
Back Up role:
1) Correct and timely posting of train journeys in the system.
2) Maintain correct and timely updating of the system with the operational costs.
