Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and strategic Buyer - Packaging Materials to oversee the planning, procurement, and connection of rigid and flexible packaging materials. The role involves maintaining a 100% fill rate, ensuring timely procurement, managing artwork transitions, and strengthening vendor partnerships while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management/B. Tech, Postgraduate from CIPET/IIP is preferred
- Minimum 3-4 years prior experience
- Experience in procurement, specifically in packaging materials (rigids and flexibles)
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Familiarity with artwork transition processes in packaging
- Excellent communication and vendor management abilities
- Knowledge of compliance regulations related to packaging procurement
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in FMCG, food & beverage, retail, or related industries
- Exposure to global sourcing and sustainable packaging solutions
Job Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Timely Connection: Ensure 100% fill rate by maintaining optimal stock levels and coordinating timely deliveries.
- Production-Based Planning: Develop procurement strategies based on production plans to meet packaging material demands efficiently.
- Artwork Transition Management: Oversee packaging artwork changes, ensuring seamless transitions without disruptions.
- Vendor Development: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to enhance sourcing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to secure reliable and high-quality materials.
- Compliance Adherence: Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory standards and internal policies
- Market Analysis & Cost Control: Monitor industry trends, negotiate pricing, and identify opportunities for cost optimization
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, supply chain, design, and finance teams to align procurement with business goal
