Job Description
The main activities for this position are:
1. Assessing customer data requirements, determining technical feasibility, and documenting results, with a focus on data integration and transformation using Microsoft Fabric and SQL.
2. Drafting detailed technical specifications for data pipelines, data models, and ETL processes based on functional and performance requirements.
3. Designing and optimizing complex data architectures, including the creation of star schemas and Datawarehouse solutions.
4. Developing and managing dataflows, data pipelines, and datasets within Microsoft Fabric to support real-time and batch data processing.
5. Implementing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to facilitate efficient data retrieval and transformation.
6. Ensuring rigorous unit, integration, and performance testing of data models, ETL processes, and data transformations to guarantee data integrity and reliability.
7. Assisting in the creation and enhancement of data governance, design, and development standards for Microsoft Fabric environments.
Providing comprehensive user and technical documentation for data pipelines, datasets, and data models
The skills and experience required for this position are:
- 7+ years of experience in data modeling, ETL development, and data management within a Datawarehouse environment, with a focus on SQL-based data solutions.
- 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Fabric / Power BI, particularly in developing data pipelines, managing datasets, and building scalable data architectures.
- Strong understanding of data modeling principles, including star schemas, and experience in optimizing data structures for performance and scalability.
- Extensive experience and high proficiency in SQL for developing complex queries, stored procedures, views, and data transformations to support Datawarehouse processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in data preparation, data integration, and managing large-scale datasets for analysis and reporting.
- Experience with the complete systems development lifecycle process.
- Experience in Scrum/Agile environments (Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Ability to write detailed documentation (use cases, configuration instructions, and models) for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Creative vision, a passion for learning and willingness to adopt and share new ideas.
- Ability to be self-starter and to work with minimum supervision.
- Able to manage multiple projects at the same time and to handle tight deadlines.
