About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Developer with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in database development and optimization. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance PostgreSQL databases that are critical to our business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize complex PostgreSQL queries, functions, and stored procedures.
- Create and maintain database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and triggers.
- Analyze performance issues and tune queries for optimal execution.
- Collaborate with application developers to ensure seamless integration of the database with backend services.
- Implement and maintain database security, backup strategies, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor database health and troubleshoot issues related to performance, reliability, and availability.
- Participate in data modeling and architecture planning for new projects.
- Document database structures, procedures, and processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in PostgreSQL database development and administration.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience with PostgreSQL-specific features like window functions, CTEs, JSONB, and PL/pgSQL.
- Hands-on experience with data migration, ETL processes, and data integration.
- Solid understanding of relational database design and data modeling.
- Familiarity with tools like pgAdmin, psql, and PostgreSQL monitoring tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good to Have:
- Knowledge of other RDBMS like MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Scripting knowledge in Python, Shell, or similar.
