Job Description
Kitchen Helper, also known as a kitchen assistant or food prep assistant, supports chefs and cooks in a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of a kitchen. Their duties include food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
Responsibilities of a Kitchen Helper:
Food Preparation:
Washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
Assisting with measuring ingredients.
Preparing food items for cooking, such as portioning or wrapping.
Assisting with assembling dishes.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and kitchen equipment.
Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces and equipment.
Sweeping and mopping floors.
Taking out trash and recycling.
Organization and Storage:
Organizing and stocking supplies and ingredients.
Storing food items in designated areas.
Assisting with inventory management.
Assisting Chefs and Cooks:
Supporting chefs and cooks with various tasks as needed.
Ensuring timely meal preparation and delivery.
General Tasks:
Unloading food and supply deliveries.
Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Following food safety and hygiene standards.
Adhering to company quality and safety guidelines.
