Job Description
Responsibilities:
Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, software, applications, and critical infrastructure components.
- Ensure accurate documentation of hardware and software lifecycles.
- Identify unauthorized or unmanaged assets, ensuring all devices meet security standards.
Patch Management & System Hardening
- Implement and oversee patching processes for servers, network devices, endpoints, and security tools using ManageEngine or equivalent tools.
- Verify and test patches before deployment to prevent disruptions.
- Enforce OS and application hardening guidelines, including CIS benchmarks.
- Ensure all infrastructure follows secure configuration standards.
Backup & Disaster Recovery Audits
- Perform regular backup audits to verify data integrity and reliability.
- Ensure that backups follow retention policies and are stored securely (offline, immutable, encrypted).
- Conduct disaster recovery drills to test backup restorability and business continuity.
Endpoint & Server Security
- Ensure endpoint protection (EDR/XDR) is properly deployed and configured.
- Monitor logs for anomalies, unauthorized access attempts, and malware infections.
- Enforce policies such as USB device control, application whitelisting, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
Cloud & Virtualization Security
- Ensure secure configuration of cloud workloads (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Monitor cloud security logs for unauthorized access or misconfigurations.
- Implement least privilege access and role-based access control (RBAC) for cloud resources.
Incident Response & Threat Remediation
- Work closely with SOC and IT teams to address vulnerabilities and remediate incidents.
- Investigate and mitigate ransomware threats, unauthorized access, and data exfiltration attempts.
- Implement logging, auditing, and forensic analysis for critical infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with patch management tools like ManageEngine, WSUS, SCCM, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of CIS hardening benchmarks and secure configuration guidelines.
- Hands-on experience with endpoint security solutions (EDR, XDR, antivirus, DLP).
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery best practices.
- Understanding of cloud security principles and best practices in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience in incident response, threat hunting, and forensic analysis.
