Provide technical support for a range of applications built on Java and running on Linux servers.
Diagnose and resolve application-related incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
ServiceNow Utilization:
Utilize Zendesk or similar ITSM tools to manage and track incidents, problems, changes, and service requests.
Assist in configuring and customizing Zendesk to optimize support processes.
Incident Resolution:
Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to address application-related incidents efficiently and within defined SLAs.
Communicate effectively with end-users to gather information and provide timely updates on incident status.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Create and maintain detailed documentation of application support procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
Promote knowledge sharing within the support team to enhance collective expertise.
Performance Monitoring:
Assist in monitoring application performance and identifying areas for improvement.
Work closely with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
Excellent Communication SkillsFamiliarity with IT service management (ITSM) processes and principles.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively in an offshore support model.Basic knowledge of security practices and regulatory compliance is advantageous.Must be ready to work for 24*7 rotational shiftsAbility to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment;Basic knowledge on data structures, concurrency, and JavaBasic hands-on experience with development tools (Maven, Git, and IDEs)Basic knowledge of databases and distributed systemsBasic knowledge about UNIX systems
Knowledge or experience in Java application support (namely log analysis)Knowledge on HTTP, REST APIs and JSONKnowledge of SQL database management, including understanding or experience with Cassandra databasesKnowledge on technologies like J2EE (using Tomcat and/or Websphere), Web Services (REST, JSON) and the infrastructure necessary to support a dynamic website (load balancers, connecting to databases, etc)Knowledge on messaging systems (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ or ZeroMQ)
A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or relevant background/experience in a related field
