Job Description
The Role:
In this role, you will collaborate with various leads, Scrum Master, Business Analysts, QA, and other developers to build technology solutions for Morningstars data services offering. You will need to develop a good understanding of the existing systems and the data model. The team is looking for forward-thinking problem solvers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and can learn new technologies quickly as needed.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain the software code base. Help implement software solutions that meet requirements and quality needs. Reinforce good development practices like test driven development, continuous integration, innovative frameworks and technology solutions that help business move faster. Develop areas of continuous and automated deployment.
Requirements:
Completed Bachelors degree in Engineering.
8+ years of experience developing software solutions.
2-3 years working on data analysis projects.
Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills. Hands on experience with developing web services using C#/.NET, Web API, Dot Net Core. Highly proficient in RESTful API design. Experienced with web technologies and standards (e.g., JSON, JWT).
Hands on experience with Relational Databases (SQL, MSSQL, Postgres).
Hands on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Hands on experience with CI/CD deployment, tools like Jenkins, Harness.

Microsoft Stack : .NET/ASP.NET development, .NET Core, C#, SQL Server
Java Stack : Java/J2EE, Spring (MVC, Spring Boot etc.), JPA/Hibernate, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery
Good to Have: Exposure to Docker/Containerization. Knowledge of messaging/streaming technologies, like Kafka.
