The Centralized Routing and Scheduling (CRS) team was established as a strategic linchpin to drive standardization and scalability across Amazons last mile delivery operations, with a core focus on optimizing costs. To deliver on this objective, the Central Operations CRS team developed a standardized routing and scheduling execution process, empowering AMZL delivery stations to achieve greater predictability and consistency in their operations. As the strategic backbone of Amazons AMZL,AMXL, and RSR transportation networks, the Centralized Scheduling team is dedicated to enabling seamless, efficient delivery experiences through meticulous planning and adherence to operational excellence.
1. Prioritize the needs of out delivery partners, ensuring route plans are executed at the highest quality to minimize station downtime and disruptions.
2. Take full accountability for maintaining network integrity by expertly balancing routing guardrails and minimizing station-level operational impacts.
3. Uphold strict service level agreements through rigorous day-of planning, empowering our delivery networks to consistently provide High-quality service and operational frugality.
4. Continuously innovate out planning capabilities and processes to enhance the efficiency ,reliability, and user experience of our transportation operations.
5. Foster transparent, collaborative relationships across Central Ops and the field, operating with the credibility and integrity expected of a strategic, reliable backbone. Purview of a Transportation Specialist in CRS:
A Transportation Specialist is responsible for executing routing and planning for stations and tens of thousands of packages. Through use of tools and coordination with the station, you will be accountable for cost, customer experience, and delivery partner experience. In addition, you will be instrumental in developing best practices and standard work for the network.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for last-mile customer experience, last-mile cost, and delivery partner experience
Use data-driven decision making to achieve daily operational excellence.
Leverage quantitative analysis to identify best practices that improve customer, cost, and delivery partner outcomes
Develop processes and systems to achieve metrics, often requiring scrappy solutions to temporarily overcome technical limitations. The ability to scale will be critical to all processes. Basic qualifications
Bachelors degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics
Experience with planning, standard work, and performance metrics.
Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
Basic/intermediate working knowledge of Excel and strong level of computer proficiency is needed to be successful in this role. Preferred qualifications
