KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsibilities include supporting the analysis, testing and implementation of changes to systems and processes for the global ELT platforms, including the global ELT marketing website and Salesforce.
  • Working with global colleagues to generate insights and produce accompanying visualisation using a range of tools including Power BI and Salesforce.
  • Play a pivotal role in the company's digital and data transformation, with a focus on advocating, communicating and supporting the local and global implementation of Salesforce technical development, as well as projects including marketing automation and helping to establish a global best practice surrounding data and analytics.
  • Assisting with any and all projects managed by the Marketing Services Department.
  • Mapping and maintaining marketing data usage and data flows across Press systems and marketing platforms.
  • Working with the Senior Data and Marketing Services Manager (and Sr. Global Marketing Services Manager, as required) to reduce inefficiencies in current systems and processes.
  • Proposing modifications to existing processes and systems in order to improve on an ongoing basis.
  • Creating, compiling, analysing and distributing reports.
  • Supporting the development of customer relationship management (CRM) systems (analysis of existing data, creation of new data sets, managing and supporting the implantation of new systems).
  • Keeping up to date and expanding knowledge of new systems at the Press, coupled with the ability to learn new software and tools required for future development.
  • Helping to develop and maintain a data dictionary and data flow documents, including user manuals for bespoke systems and processes.
  • Undertaking data cleansing and processing as required.
  • Analysing, identifying and implementing data cleansing requirements.
  • Assist with any other requirements deriving from daily maintenance of websites and other web platforms.
  • Daily team workflow management of data and report requests.
Education:

Relevant University degree, preferably in Mass Communications, Business, English, or Publishing

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in data analysis and cleansing, using advanced features of MS Excel, such as filters, macros, embedded formulas, conditional formatting, graphical output, etc.
  • Good experience with database software (Filemaker, Access, etc.).
  • Experience with CRM databases (Salesforce, etc.) desirable.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) required.
  • Basic familiarity with HTML.
  • Ability to document processes and procedures clearly, concisely, and for a range of target audiences, in appropriate and correct written English.
  • Understand how to solve typical web-related and data-related problems/challenges.
  • Ability to use all Microsoft Office suite to create reports, write training documentations, document processes and develop presentations.
  • 2 years direct work experience in a data role preferred.
  • Basic understanding of/experience of working within the publishing industry desirable.
  • Experience of working with SAP would be a bonus.
  • Understanding of issue logging systems such as JIRA would be a bonus.
  • Ability to work in a diverse constituency.
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable liaising with technical experts and translating the concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • This is NOT a technical role, and it is not involved in data architecture design, data extraction or database maintenance, but basic familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS), HTML and CSS is desired.
