Job Description
Network Administrator Role Summary
As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management, monitoring, optimization, and security of enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across global environments. You will serve as a trusted technical resource within a virtual, multi-functional, and globally distributed team, balancing internal operational needs with customer and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive & Reactive Problem Management:
Monitor network performance and device health using advanced tools and analytics. Identify potential bottlenecks, capacity constraints, or anomalies before they impact services. Respond swiftly to critical incidents, applying deep troubleshooting expertise on Juniper and Cisco network devices to resolve issues efficiently and minimize downtime.
- SLA & Ticket Management:
Monitor and manage the ticket queue proactively, ensuring timely assignment, escalation, and resolution within defined SLAs. Maintain a zero-breaches SLA record by prioritizing and resolving high-impact issues with urgency and precision.
- Network Performance & Capacity Optimization:
Conduct regular analysis of network utilization, traffic patterns, and device performance. Implement data-driven optimizations to improve throughput, reduce latency, and enable scalable capacity planning. Support infrastructure modernization and migration activities, including device maintenance and upgrades, even outside standard business hours when required.
- Technical Ownership & Automation:
Apply technical knowledge to manage network configurations, firmware updates, access controls, and security policies. Contribute to automation initiativessuch as automated health checks, configuration backups, and alerting systemsto enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Security & Compliance:
Support technical security management by enforcing secure network design principles, monitoring for threats, and aligning with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO27001/27701). Collaborate with security teams to ensure network resilience and data protection.
- Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Application Support, and Service Management) to enable seamless integration and end-to-end service delivery. Provide expert guidance during incident resolution and contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvement.
- 24x7 Critical Incident Support:
Be available for on-call support during critical or business-impacting outages, ensuring rapid response and resolution to maintain service continuity and customer trust.
Core Competencies:
- Deep hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/Cisco NX-OS and Juniper Junos platforms
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar)
- Strong understanding of routing (BGP, OSPF), switching (VLANs, STP), firewalls, and SD-WAN
- Familiarity with automation and orchestration (Python, Ansible, REST APIs)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global, agile team
