- Prescribe corrective lenses and vision therapy as needed.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
- Educate patients about proper eye care and the use of prescribed eyewear.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
- Provide referrals to ophthalmologists or other specialists when necessary.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field of optometry and incorporate them into practice. Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of optometric principles and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficiency in using optometric equipment and technologies. Tools Required:
- Diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, tonometers, and visual field analyzers.
- Electronic health record (EHR) systems for managing patient records.
- Lensometers and trial lens sets for accurate vision assessments.
- Educational materials and resources for patient education on eye health.

Educating patients on eye health, preventative care, and the proper use of vision aids. Maintaining detailed patient records and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. To succeed in this role you should have the following:
A Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and a valid license to practice as an optometrist. Strong clinical skills and proficiency in performing eye tests and examinations. Excellent communication abilities to effectively interact with patients and explain treatment options. A commitment to staying updated on advancements in eye care and technology.
