Responsibilities youll take on
You will oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of access management systems and technologies, combining technical expertise with leadership and strategic decision-making.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead a Team: Manage a team of AM engineers, analysts, or administrators. Guide them through technical challenges and foster their development.
Provide Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert for complex AM issues, supporting and mentoring team members.
Resource Planning: Plan and allocate resources for AM projects and activities.
Design and Architecture
System Design and Architecture: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of access control frameworks, including SSO, MFA, Identity Federation, and role-based access control.
Security Protocols: Ensure AM systems adhere to industry standards and best practices, using protocols such as OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect, and LDAP.
Implementation and Integration
Access Control Systems: Oversee the deployment and integration of AM systems with enterprise applications, databases, cloud services, and IT infrastructure.
Third-Party Integrations: Implement and manage integrations with external systems like cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc.), on-prem systems, and business-critical applications.
Automation: Lead efforts to automate access provisioning and de-provisioning processes, aiming for efficiency and reducing manual work.
Policy and Compliance
Access Policies: Define and enforce role-based access policies to ensure users have the appropriate level of access to resources based on their job functions.
Compliance and Audits: Ensure the organization complies with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) related to access control.
Security and Risk Management
Threat Analysis: Assess and mitigate risks associated with AM, including potential vulnerabilities in authentication and authorization systems.
Incident Management: Respond to security incidents related to access control breaches or unauthorized access.
Continuous Improvement: Continuous improvement of AM strategy and solutions and staying ahead of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and new technologies.
Collaboration and Communication
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT security, network teams, application teams, and business units to ensure seamless integration of AM systems across the organization.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex technical AM concepts to non-technical stakeholders, such as executives and compliance officers.
Documentation and Reporting
Documentation: Create proper documentation for AM systems, policies, processes, and incident response procedures.
Reporting: Create and present detailed reports on AM activities, system performance, and incidents for leadership and audits.
Training and Awareness
Training Programs: Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and staff on security best practices and using AM systems.
Awareness Campaigns: Promote awareness of AM policies across the organization, particularly around security and compliance.
