Reports To: Director/VP Engineering

Job Summary:
We re hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager who brings together deep technical acumen and exceptional people management capabilities. You should be an engineering specialist at heart with proven experience in building and scaling teams and products. You ll be responsible for leading a team of 8-15 engineers and driving high-quality product development
This is a high-impact leadership role best suited for individuals who have worked in fast-paced start-ups or mid-sized product companies , and have seen the 0 1 and 1 100 journey firsthand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and scale a team of 8 15 software engineers while remaining technically hands-on.
Deep understanding of Core Java, J2EE, JDBC, Java 8, Hibernate, Spring, and SQL. - Familiarity with UI frameworks such as Ext.Js, Elastic search, and Cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Take ownership of product development life cycle from ideation and prototyping to delivery and scaling.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps) to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Conduct regular code/design reviews and foster engineering best practices across the team.
- Act as a role model by demonstrating strong execution, technical excellence, and a builder s mindset.
- Inspire a culture of ownership, urgency, continuous learning, and innovation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 8-12 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong expertise in Java , along with a deep understanding of object-oriented design , algorithms , data structures , and system design .
- Hands-on experience with MySQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
- Proven experience building products from scratch (0 1) and scaling them successfully ( 1 100 ).
- Demonstrated leadership in start-up or mid-sized product companies .
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Educational background from top-tier engineering institutes such as IITs, NITs, BITS Pilani, IIITs, NSIT, DTU etc..
- Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, containerization (Docker/K8s), and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Exposure to enterprise SaaS platforms and high-scale, high-availability systems.
