- The company Kalkey is currently looking for a highly skilled IoT Freelancer to join their team on a full-time contractual basis. As an IoT Freelancer at Kalkey, you will be involved in working on impactful IoT projects, developing solutions for connected devices, and collaborating with a team of passionate individuals. Your responsibilities as an IoT Freelancer at Kalkey will include designing, developing, and implementing IoT systems and devices on various platforms. You will also be tasked with developing firmware for embedded systems, sensors, and devices to ensure seamless integration with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to IoT solutions, devices, and firmware will be a crucial part of your role, both during development and in production environments. Additionally, you will design prototypes, conduct thorough testing, and optimize IoT systems for real-world applications. Collaboration is key at Kalkey, and you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive IoT solutions that align with client specifications and business requirements. Maintaining detailed documentation, facilitating clear communication across teams, and providing regular progress reports are essential aspects of the role. To excel in this position, you should have hands-on experience with popular IoT platforms like AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT, or Google Cloud IoT. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and JavaScript, as well as a strong understanding of communication protocols like MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, and Bluetooth, are necessary. Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, STM32) and embedded software development will be beneficial. Familiarity with IoT cloud solutions, data storage, analytics, and edge computing is also desirable. The ideal candidate will possess problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software issues. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with IoT systems and solutions, preferably in a freelance or contract-based capacity, is required for this role. Desirable skills include knowledge of IoT security, data encryption best practices, AI/ML applications in IoT or big data analytics, IoT device management, OTA updates, as well as the ability to work in an agile environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
