Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end billing process for all Inpatient (IP) admissions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Generate provisional and final bills for patients admitted under cash, insurance, or corporate accounts.
- Coordinate with clinical and nursing teams to capture all chargeable services, procedures, investigations, pharmacy, and consumables.
- Liaise with insurance desk for pre-authorization, interim approval, and final settlement of cashless insurance cases.
- Ensure proper documentation and submission of claims in hospital portals (e.g., Trackcare, ClaimBook).
- Handle corporate billing requirements, reimbursements, and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Verify indoor case papers (ICP) and patient records for completeness before discharge billing.
- Ensure timely discharges by processing bills within defined TAT (cash ~140 mins, insurance ~250 mins).
- Maintain patient confidentiality and provide billing clarifications to patients and families as needed.
- Coordinate with Patient Care Coordinators (PCC) and Guest Relations for smooth discharge process.
- Assist in handling billing queries, disputes, and reconciliations with patients, insurance companies, and corporates.
- Support month-end closing, billing audits, and compliance with hospital finance policies.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of hospital billing systems (HIS, Claim portals, insurance TPA systems).
- Good understanding of insurance processes, pre-auth, and corporate billing.
- Accuracy in billing and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to handle patient/family queries.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet discharge TAT.
- MS Excel and reporting skills.
