Job Description: Senior Backend Developer Node.js & Microservices
We are looking for a Senior Node.js Backend Developer with 7+ years of experience to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing robust backend services and APIs using Node.js, Express, and LoopBack, along with modern database and caching technologies. You will work within a microservices architecture and contribute to the platforms scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, Express, and LoopBack.
- Architect microservices and RESTful APIs with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
- Integrate with databases including MongoDB (via Mongoose) and MSSQL.
- Implement authentication and authorization using MSAL-Node and Azure AD.
- Validate request payloads and enforce data integrity using Joi.
- Write unit and integration tests using Jest to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Optimize backend performance and manage caching strategies using Redis.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of backend development practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js, Express, LoopBack, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Mongoose, and MSSQL.
- Experience with authentication flows using MSAL-Node and Azure AD.
- Proficiency in request validation and schema enforcement using Joi.
- Solid understanding of Redis for caching and session management.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Solid foundation in computer science principles, algorithms, and data structures.
