Job Description
Overview about the role.
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in the Cloud Managed Services team at Searce, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-based infrastructure. You'll be at the forefront of managing and optimizing cloud services to deliver high-quality and resilient solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Mandatory: Must have significant, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Isolate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues reported by clients in their cloud environment.
- Plan and deploy operating system and security patches in Windows/Linux environments, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and propose/implement preventive actions to enhance system reliability.
- Identify repetitive manual activities and contribute to the development of automation to reduce toil.
- System troubleshooting and problem-solving across platform and application domains.
- Follow change management procedures to ensure all infrastructure and system changes are properly identified, recorded, and implemented.
- Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Ensure critical system security by implementing and using best-in-class cloud security solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on operations best practices.
- Monitor system metrics and develop ways to improve performance and stability.
- Use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services to design and implement robust solutions.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in a similar role
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong ability to multitask
- Comfort working with multiple groups within business
