About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Purchase Sr Specialist to oversee procurement and sourcing in the beauty and personal care industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience and will play a crucial role in identifying market trends, finding manufacturers for new product development, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee procurement and sourcing processes in the beauty and personal care industry.
- Identify trends in the market to inform sourcing decisions.
- Find the right manufacturers and facilitate new product development (NPD) formulations.
- Exhibit team handling capability to guide and mentor junior staff.
- Develop and maintain strong Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the sourcing process.
- Possess knowledge of product packaging requirements and standards.
- Understand Chinese product manufacturing and the associated supply chain.
Requirements:
1. Strategic Sourcing
- Expertise in the procurement of new product materials.
- Vendor identification and onboarding for R&D/prototype needs.
- Strong cost negotiation and value engineering skills.
2. Procurement Expertise
- Raw material and component procurement expertise.
- Supplier risk assessment capabilities.
- Optimization of MOQ and lead times.
3. Product Development
- Experience in prototype and pilot batch procurement.
- Ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
- Knowledge of product packaging requirements and standards.
