We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Data Centre Operations and Technical Support Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting server systems, storage, virtualization platforms, and other core IT services across enterprise data centers. The role demands hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux environments, along with a strong understanding of clustering, virtualization, performance tuning, and IT compliance.


Key Responsibilities


  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server (2019, 2022) and various Linux distributions
  • Administer Active Directory including user/group management, Group Policies, and domain services
  • Monitor and maintain server and storage hardware, including SAN/NAS systems to ensure high availability
  • Perform patch management and apply security updates to operating systems and production environments
  • Utilize monitoring tools such as Solar Winds and Site24x7 for system performance tracking
  • Configure and manage core OS/networking services: SSH, Telnet, SFTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, Samba, LDAP, SMTP, Relay
  • Implement clustering and high availability configurations on both Windows and Linux platforms
  • Manage web/application servers including IIS, Apache, and Nginx
  • Support and maintain databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
  • Manage DNS, DDNS, email servers, SSL certificates, and domain configurations
  • Apply SAN concepts including RAID, iSCSI, LUNs, replication, and snapshots
  • Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware and Nutanix
  • Perform OS deployment, SQL Server setup, and drive incident resolution adhering to SLAs
  • Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate system installations, upgrades, and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Monitor and evaluate server performance; calibrate and perform backups regularly
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose performance issues effectively
  • Have knowledge of Veritas Cluster and Always On Clustering technologies
  • Possess strong understanding of Linux environments
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of network infrastructure, hardware deployments, OS deployments, SQL configuration, and management
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications for reporting solutions
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning and indexing strategies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies or report performance issues
  • Document report development processes, data sources, and data transformations for knowledge sharing and compliance
  • Stay updated on Power BI and SQL Server enhancements, best practices, and new features
  • Experience with virtualization and software-defined systems; familiarity with computational fluid dynamics is a plus
  • Monitor and supervise all data centre tools and operations
  • Coordinate with vendors and resource engineers to ensure effective completion of installations, configurations, and maintenance tasks
  • Monitor issues, escalate when necessary, and ensure effective resolution with relevant departments
  • Adhere to operational schedules and compliance requirements for daily data centre activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents following data centre processes related to incident tracking, response, and documentation
  • Demonstrate quick self-learning abilities and adapt rapidly to new technologies
  • Maintain good team coordination and thorough documentation

Qualifications & Skills


  • 1-4 years of experience in IT Infrastructure Administration
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Certifications in Microsoft or Linux (e.g., RHCSA, MCSA, CompTIA Linux+)
  • Familiarity with PowerShell and Bash scripting (preferred)
  • Understanding of the ITIL framework is advantageous
