Job Description
- Develop, implement, and optimize database solutions in PostgreSQL and MySQL environments
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
- Write and maintain Linux Shell scripts for automation, system administration, and database management tasks
- Ensure high-performance and reliable database environments by working closely with systems administrators and other team members
- Collaborate with the development team to design and implement data models and ensure proper data flow
- Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving any issues as needed
- Manage database backups, restores, and ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place
- Provide troubleshooting support and resolve issues related to databases and scripts
- Perform database upgrades and patching activities as needed
- Work with team members to handle database migrations and integrations
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in database development using PostgreSQL (PL/PgSQL) and MySQL
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Shell scripting to automate processes
- Experience in creating complex database queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization
- Proficiency in database administration, including backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery
- Strong understanding of database security and data integrity best practices
- Ability to work independently and handle various database-related tasks in a dynamic environment
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud-based databases and systems
- Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tuning tools
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker for database container management
