Why this job mattersAs a Microsoft Exchange Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our Microsoft Exchange Server environment, including Exchange Online. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our email infrastructure to meet the needs of our organization. What youll be doing your accountabilitiesThe skills youll need to succeed
- Manage and administer Microsoft Exchange on-prem Server, including installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance tasks.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and availability.
- Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and updates to keep Exchange Server and associated components up to date.
- Configure and manage mailbox policies, retention policies, and other user-related settings.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Exchange Server from threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with IT teams and other stakeholders to integrate Messaging Platform with other systems, applications, and services.
- Provide technical guidance and support for projects involving Exchange Server integration or migration.
- Microsoft Messaging Should have excellent understanding of Microsoft Messaging Platform, both OnPrem and Exchange Online
- Team Player Role holder required collobrate with wider Team members in terms of business requirement, policy, & critical incident.
- Support Techincal projects provide Techical support to ongoing messaging related projects
- Stakeholder management, with the ability to hold others to account, align and influence via Storytelling
Leadership accountabilitiesExperience youd be expected to have
- Collaborative Partner - You build relationships across BT, collaborating both operationally and technically to identify opportunities and deliver business results, whilst removing barriers.
- Bold Decision Maker Comfortable working with ambiguity and able to made decisions / recommendations, also cut through beaucracy to get data points needed for decisioning
- Communications Ability to communicate and tell a story to all levels within a corporate workplace
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience as a Microsoft Exchange Administrator, with a focus on Exchange Server and Exchange Online.
- Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 and Exchange Online environments.
- Strong knowledge of email protocols, such as SMTP, POP3, IMAP, and ActiveSync.
- Familiarity with email security technologies, including anti-spam filters, antivirus software, and encryption methods.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with users, peers, and management.
