CIVIL & STRUCTURAL DESIGN MANAGER / ENGINEER
Tata Projects Ltd is looking to fill the role of project civil & structural lead for our office at Hyderabad.
Job Summary:
Civil & structural engineer having relevant experience in the designs, analyses of structures for Power plants, steel plant structures like Civil buildings, steel structural buildings, water retaining structures and General civil works such as Roads, Drains, culverts, bridges etc. Designs shall ensure that the structures are safe, functional, and durable, and meet the requirements of the clients, codes, and regulations. Civil/structural engineers are expected to work closely with other engineering disciplines, contractors and other engineers to deliver high-quality and cost-effective solutions for various projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design of various structures using STAAD, ETABS, Etc software tools and manual calculations.
- Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, reports, and other documents for compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineers, other disciplines, contractors, and consultants on project design, development, and delivery.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and testing as part of the engineering co-ordination.
- Attending meeting with customer / clients and clarify their comments/doubts in designs or drawings, get approval for the designs and drawings.
- Identify and resolve any structural issues, risks, or challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, technicians, and other staff members.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments and innovations in structural engineering and related fields.
- Prepare Bill of materials for Civil, structural and architectural works. Must be aware of the thumb rules/industry benchmarks for review of the BOQs.
- Co-ordination with DECs and getting the engineering deliverables delivered on time with best quality and optimum designs.
- Arranging regular value engineering workshops, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Change management, claims identification and data collection/preparation for claims.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Masters in structural engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 12 to 18 years of experience in Civil & structural engineering, preferably in the industry sector.
- Proficient in using various structural analysis and design software tools, such as STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, Ansys, etc.
- Knowledgeable of the applicable codes, standards, and regulations for structural engineering, such as IS. It is good to have knowledge on international standards such as ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC etc.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to work independently and under project tight schedules and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
